About this event

When terrible things happen and our peace is stolen from us, most people want to build peace into our lives and communities. Join us to learn, explore, and apply strategies to build peace into our personal and community lives with simple, free self-care practices for resilience.

This training is partially funded by the F. R. Bigelow Foundation and specifically for those who live and work in the Ramsey, Washington, and Dakota Counties. We invite you to Pay-What-You-Can to help us fulfill our commitment to economic justice so that our programs are available to all.

Training objectives:

1. Learn the definitions and purpose of resilience and self-care.

2. Learn resilience and self -care research and how it applies to everyday life.

3. Learn strategies for self-care to build resilience.

4. Consider how to apply strategies self-care for resilience in everyday life.

Crixell Shell, MS, STAR Trainer and Assistant Executive Director, Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute, Rule 114 Community Mediator, Coming to the Table Racial Healing Talking Circle Facilitator

This training is for laypeople, paraprofessionals, and licensed professionals. For licensed Minnesota mental health professionals, teachers, and nurses who want 2 hours of continuing education (CE) for this training, choose the registration option that includes the $25 CE fee.

If you wish to receive a Certificate of Completion for this training, please register with the option to pay the CE fee. Otherwise, the post-training email that you receive soon after the training will serve as confirmation that you attended this training. We are unable to provide a Certificate of Completion without payment.

Please note: After you complete your Eventbrite registration, the day before the training and the morning of the training, our Communications Coordinator, Gemma Eissa will email you PDF handouts in preparation for this training and the Zoom video conferencing online training link. Cancellation Policy: Refunds for this training, less a $10 administrative fee, will be given if written cancellation is received from the registrant at least 24 hours during the Monday-Friday work week prior to the training . No tuition refund is offered after 24 hours prior to the training. Transfer of tuition to another online training is granted if written request is received at least 24 hours before the day of this training. Refunds or transfers are not available for no-shows.
